Description
In 1929, the government of the Chinese Republic proposed a gold standard system for a national currency. But this plan failed. Only remained these pattern coins to witness this historical event.
The gold standard series include dollar, half dollar, 20 cents and 10 cents in silver and 5 cents, 2 cents in nickel, one cent is copper. All of these coins are trial patterns, only few known to exist.
These patterns were designed by Clifford Hewitt, and dies were prepared by John Sinnock. Trial pieces struck in Philadelphia and sent to Shanghai together with dies.
This (without hole struck in Copper) is the finest known example of the rarest variety. A great opportunity to own this historic important numismatic rarity.
