The diptych is in very good condition. One part shows a small scratch in the margin and slight scratches at the drill holes. The dimensions are each 59.8 x 150 cm.
Gerhard Merz (b. 1947)
Gerhard Merz studies painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. He was represented at the documenta in Kassel four times in a row and designed the German pavilion at the 47. Venice Biennale together with Katharina Sieverding in 1997. He was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Düsseldorf since 1991 and at the Academy on Munich since 2004. The artist lives and works in Pescia close to Lucca in Italy and in Munich today. (tm)
