Vincenzo Laera’s photographs are characterized by his great sense of composition and light that is deeply influenced by photographers like Helmut Newton. The present portrait shows a male nude posing under water, so that the body appears gently blurred. The photograph belongs to the series ‘Mr. Dasauki’.

The gelatin silver print is in very good condition. The image size is 59.5 x 45 cm, the sheet measures 63.3 x 49 cm.

Vincenzo Laera (b. 1966)

Vincenzo Laera has been working in the fashion and beauty industry since the age of 16. His interest in photography was aroused by his collaborations with fashion photographers like Koto Bolofo (b. 1959). In 1987 he had the possibility to join the photographer’s team of Helmut Newton (1920-2004), before he moved to New York in 1989. Here, he continued to collaborate with a number of famous photographers, including Irving Penn, Bert Stern and Annie Leibovitz. Laera lives and works in Berlin, today. (cbo)
