Very good condition

The Statue of Liberty is a popular motif of the US-American artist Peter Max. Both presented sheets from different editions are color reproductions of paintings, re-worked with acrylic by the artist and thus unique.

Condition:

Each sheet is mounted to a mat on verso and is in very good condition. The frames are in good condition with only slight signs wear. The sheets measure 35.5 x 30.5 cm resp. 21 x 23.5 cm. The framed dimensions are 62 x 57 cm resp. 57.5 x 47.5 cm.

Peter Max

Peter Max was born in Germany in 1937, his family fled national socialism and settled in China where he grew up. After travels though Asia and Africa they finally moved to the US. Peter Max received his artistic education at the Art Students League, the Pratt Institute and the School of Visual Arts in New York. After his studies, he opened his own studio and successfully marketed books poster and other products as a designer. After 1964, he started creating his iconic colorful silkscreen prints. He received commissions from airlines and cruise lines and was chosen as the official artist for the American Olympic team in 2006, several super bowls and the U.S. Open. To this day Peter Max has had a prolific career in advertising. (fea)
