Item Details
Description
An unusual marked Dietz Steel Clad wire bottom lantern that does have the PRR stamping on the shoulder. The top has the Dietz information. It has flat verticals and 2 horizontal wires. It has a third horizontal wire surrounding the base. It's an earlier model with a twist off pot and a brass Dietz Convex burner. It is hard to find this model of lantern with any railroad marking. The twist off pot is fine. There is some pitting to the metal. This frame had a coating of gloss material (Klear Kote) applied, this was popular in the 1980s. The globe is a fine 5 3/8” mellon shape with a MacBeth 223 Pearl Glass logo etched on the top on one side. The globe has PRR cast in fancy letters across the center. A hard to find model with a fine globe.
