Bagan formerly Pagan is an ancient city located in the Mandalay Region of Myanmar. "The need for an inventory of Pagan monuments has been sorely felt for a long time (..) The archeological site, where the capital of the first Myanmar kingdom was located from 1044 to 1287 AD, is well known for having more than 2.000 Buddhist brick monuments scattered over it." - Introduction.
