Vintage complete MahJong Set in Original Case. The tiles are dovetailed bone and bamboo with the graphics still bright. There are also counting sticks and dice included. An original standard rules and instructions for the Chinese Domino game of Mahjong is also included The case is in very good condition with Dragon & Phoenix accents and brass hardware. Mahjong (often spelled Mah Jong, Mahjongg, and Mah Jongg) is thought to have derived from Chinese card games of the 12th century. The four-person game we know today was probably developed in China in the middle of the 19th century. By the early 1900s, the Mahjong was a craze in the United States. Its popularity continued into the 1950s and then waned in the second half of the 20th century.
