Good condition
The small baroque chest was made in Germany in the 18th century. The rectangular body with a convex hinge lid rests on ball feet. The sides, the front and the lid show ebonized geometrical decor. Framed radial motifs can be found on the front and the sides. The lid is decorated with a stylized four-leaf clover framed by four ebonized cassettes. Two bow handles made of brass are mounted sideways. A vegetal ornamented key plate of brass can be found on the upper front of the body. The lid is equipped with a ball knob. The interior shows simple liners of matted steel.
Condition:
The chest is in good condition with the usual traces of age and wear. The lower left edge of the front shows a small material loss. The lid displays a fissure and small paint residues. The steel liners and the brass fittings were replaced. The chest measures 32.5 x 64.8 x 49.7 cm. (bed)
