This Central-Russian icon dates back to the second half of the 19th century and portrays Christ as the almighty savior and ruler. He is depicted in shoulder length with a gold painted tripartite Nimbus. At the top the Greek Inscription for ‘Jesus Christ’ can be found. At shoulder height the Church Slavonic title ‘Lord, Ruler of the universe’ is inscribed.
The paint surface shows under UV-light scattered touch-ups, especially along the edges, as well as minimal color flaking. Otherwise the icon is in good condition. The reverse shows two sponki. The icon measures 32.2 x 26.7 cm. (amb)
