These are four square Persian Qajar tile from the 19th century mounted together inside a brass frame with two hangers on top. The ceramic tiles are striking in their beautifully luminous glaze of the ground in cobalt blue. In addition, the painterly design of the tiles is executed in the cuerda seca technique with wax threads in black contours. In the distance appears the palace in the lower area while the polo riders with sticks and ball take up the main part of the composition that stretches over all four tiles. They are surrounded by stylized landscape elements.
The joint tile element is in overall very good condition with usual slight traces of age of the glaze. The total dimensions including the frame are 41.5 x 41.5 cm. (tm)
