Item Details

Description

Original dockyard builders half mode of the English built trawler S.S. Thomas Hardy and Edgar Wallace. The vessel was built by Chochrane and Sons Ltd, Selby. The half model is laminated, carved, varnished below the waterline with black French polish finish above the waterline. The deck carries some fine brass fittings. Deck and cabin details are executed in India ink. Fitted to an original mahogany display case with skylight top. The Thomas Hardy was instrumental in a famous rescue at sea involving the Grimsby Trawler Howe in November 1931.
