Description

(BENJAMIN HARRISON & LEVI MORTON), 1888 Campaign Bandana, Choice Extremely Fine.
Large, 22" x 24", red, white and blue cotton bandana, featuring a circular stars and stripes shield, with individual portraits of Harrison and Morton in each corner. (Listed as Plate 585 in "Threads of History" by Collins). The portrait of Morton is derived from an engraving by the Atlantic Publishing Co., NY. The campaign slogan, "PROTECTION," is printed on the red and white striped field, and "FOR PRESIDENT BENJAMIN HARRISON / FOR VICE PRESIDENT LEVI P. MORTON", are printed in white letters around the red edges of the shield. Slightly faded coloration to the design, and top and bottom edges with very minor fringing. Attached by stitched threads in each corner, to a clean canvas background. Perfect for framing and display.
