Description
A Sabaean fragmented gypsum figure of a woman seated in a chair, c. 3rd-2nd Century BC, 5 3/4 in (14.7cm). The head, feet, hands, and the feet of the chair are missing, and there is chipping around the body. A unique and very cool piece for a collection. Ex New Orleans private collection, the original owner worked for King Faisal of Saudi Arabia and acquired many art objects as gifts during the 1950's and 1960's while participating in archaeological excavations for the king.
