In 2000, the Greek artist Jannis Kounellis was invited by Har-El Printers & Publishers to create a portfolio of twelve terragraphs for their artists’ book ’The Gospel According to Thomas’. The present terragraph feautures the forth motif of the series and depicts a stylized flock of birds as a symbol of ’living’ beings. The publisher had exclusively developed the terragraph technique under the use of desert sand to implement Kounellis’ ideas.

The terragraph is in very good condition considering its age. The work is verso signed with pencil ‘Kounellis’. The frame is also in very good condition and features a small window on the back side, displaying the artist’s signature. The sheet size is 80 x 120 cm. (cbo)
