These four colour offset prints on carton by Gilbert & George from the Edition Künstlerhaus Stuttgart were made in the year 1990 after the originals from 1984. The four prints are each titled, signed and dated in the print and show the two famous British artists’ typical theme: imaginative self-portrayals.
The four colour offset prints are in very good condition. The envelope is a little yellowed on the edges and also shows distinct creases. Additionally a text by Wolf Jahn is included. The dimensions of the prints are 25.8 x 15.5 cm to 20.4 x 31.3 cm, the envelope is 23 x 32.2 cm.
Gilbert & George
The two British artists Gilbert and George met in 1967 at St Martin’s School of Art. Since then they work together. They stage large scale works to display their feelings and thoughts. The couple prefer a playful and naïve dealing with provocative and kitschy subjects.
