A cultured pearl and diamond pendant. Of openwork design, the cultured pearl and brilliant-cut diamond cluster, within a single-cut diamond scrolling surround, suspended from a vari-cut diamond tapered surmount. Estimated total diamond weight 2.20cts. Length 4.1cms. Weight 7.4gms.

Overall condition good to fair. Surface scratches and discolouration in keeping with general wear. The mount is possibly early 20th century, however it has had a number of modifications and repair work. Soft solder and deeper scratches/file marks visible to the back of the mount. All stones are replacements. The cultured pearl is a white colour, with rose and greenish overtones. Fairly good skins with some surface blemishes, to include pits. Minor nacre damage to the front, significant chip and nacre damage to the back, partially hidden by mount and glue. Glue reside visible from the back of the mount. Cultured pearl slightly off-round. Without the aid of laboratory equipment, it has not been possible to determine if these cultured pearls are from a fresh or saltwater source. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. The diamonds are bright, lively and well matched. Light nicks and chips can be seen to some.
