PostersFirst World War Marine Corps Recruiting Poster

World War I, Recruiting Poster, This Device on Hat or Helmet Means U.S. Marines" by Charles Buckles Falls, Choice Extremely Fine.
Depicted in this poster, on a field of hunter green, is the U.S. Marine Corps emblem, which served to convey an aura of power and respect. This device was held in such high esteem during the time of recruitment that it was used alone to recruit elite warriors. This huge, 43" x 28" poster is signed only "F" but has been attributed to artist Charles Buckles Falls (1874-1959). This poster has been professionally laid to a heavy, archival linen backing for preservation, and is in excellent condition, having some professional repairs in the top margin and into the green area at the top. A simple yet clear message on a great World War I Marine Recruiting Poster
