This First World War Marine Corps Recruiting Poster by Clarence F. Underwood depicts a Marine with his rifle, sitting on a dock, with a battleship in the background. This poster has been professionally laid to a heavy, archival linen backing for preservation. The main printed area of this poster is in excellent condition. There is extensive professional restoration work to the border, most of which has been replaced or repainted. Overall this is a wonderful World War I Marine Corps Recruiting Poster and much in demand.

Clarence Frederick Underwood (1871-1929) was an American painter. He provided illustrations for various magazines, including Century, McClure’s, Harper’s, the London News, and the Saturday Evening Post. He also illustrated children’s books and other books published around the turn of the century."
