Vintage 1986 WACKO THE COCKROACH Animated Battery Operated Toy by Iwaya, Japan. Hit him on the head with the hammer and watch him move around and squeal. This is a rare toy that was marketed for 7 months and sold briskly in a nation whose citizens aren't known for throwing money after frivolities and where venting frustration (by wacking the character on the head) goes against cultural grain. These moved over to the US and was sold in Los Angeles department stores, toy shops, gift shops, and airports; priced between $25-$30. This one comes in the original box with the accessories and is in perfect running order. About 6-1/2" tall and wide.
