Description

Two Carved Rosewood Crucifixes, early 20th c., one with a patinated bronze Christ figure, the other with a carved ivory figure of Christ, Bronze- 16 3/8 in., W.- 9 in., D.- 1 1/2 in.

Condition

Conditions consistent with age. Mild dust debris is observed throughout both crucifixes. A flea-sized spot of brown discoloration is observed to the ivory Christ’s toe. Separations are noted between arms and torso on the ivory Christ. Bronze is seen with a nice patina. An approximately 1 inch section of wood has chipped off behind the bronze Christ’s head, but is attached by a nail. A nice pair. ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD “AS IS.” NO STATEMENT REGARDING CONDITION OF ANY ITEM, WHETHER IT IS MADE ORALLY AT THE AUCTION OR ANY OTHER TIME, OR IN WRITING IN THE CATALOGUE OR ELSEWHERE, SHALL BE DEEMED TO BE A WARRANTY, REPRESENTATION, OR ASSUMPTION OF LIABILITY.
