Description
Eli Terry Carved Mahogany Pillar and Scroll Mantel Clock, 19th c., the broken arch pediment with brass finials over a gilt painted wood face above an eglomise panel, the interior with original paper label, with a scalloped skirt, on bracket feet, works now removed from case, H.- 32 in., W.- 17 1/4 in., D.- 4 5/8 in.
Condition
Condition consistent with age and use. Works are removed from the case, and unassembled. An approximately ½ inch area of scratches is seen in the top right corner of the clock door, with a similar area noted in the bottom right. Glue residue is noted to the left of the pediment. Some mild craquelure is seen to the clock face. Wavy brown lines of discoloration are noted to the eglomise panel, along the left side and the right. An impressive example overall.
