Polychromed Birch Bowfront Chest, 20th c., by Modernage, the bowed white marble over a bank of three drawers flanked by convex sides, all with bright floral decoration by Bridgitte Dyess, 2000, signed in the top drawer, on cabriole legs to scrolled toes joined by a pierced skirt, H.- 34 in., W.- 43 1/8 in., D.- 20 in.

Condition consistent with age. Drawers open easily. Chest is sturdy overall. A few faint lines of brown discoloration are seen along the bottom of the second drawer, with losses to paint and gilt decoration on molding noted as well. Smaller scattered losses to paint and gilt decoration are observed throughout, especially along the pierced skirt and feet. A delightful example.
