Pre-Columbian, Northern Mexico, Ca. 1300 CE. Yes, this is only a fragment - but what a fragment! Large terracotta section of figural vessel decorated in traditional red and black geometric designs and enhanced with the face of a raptor, although with some human characteristics indicating a transformational event - probably drug induced. Custom stand. Size: 10" W x 6-1/2" H.
Provenance: Ex-R. Kelley collection, Denver, CO. Mr. Kelley is a world renown artist, published in a number of catalogues and books.
