Jack Miller, British 1945-2004- ''Living Room by Betty Joel''; screenprint printed in colours, signed, titled, numbered 24/35 and dated 78 in black ink, 70x95cm: together with one further screenprint printed in colours by the same hand entitled ''Boudoir by Louis Dumergne'', signed, titled, numbered 24/35 and dated 78 in black ink, 70x95.5cm, (2) (unframed) (may be subject to Droit de Suite) Note: Betty Joel was the main designer for Betty Joel Ltd., the firm she established with her husband Lieutenant David Joel in 1921. The venture had initially began with her designing pieces for her own home and undertaking commissions for friends. Joel was influenced by the clean lines and rich materials of French Art Deco furniture, as well as the functionalism and craftmanship of the Arts and Crafts movement. Examples of Joel's designs are held in the collection of the Victoria and Albert museum
