wife of the Duke of Windsor (formerly, Edward VIII), \"Dear Antonio/I want to thank you for the lovely freesias...I will come to New York in the late spring...though it won\'t be the same without the Duke.....again my thanks for your touching thoughts of us/Yours sincerely/Wallis/Duchess of Windsor.\" The two-paged hand-written letter is on white engraved stationery with a black border, together with a hand-written envelope, postmarked 20 September, 1972, a few months after the death of the Duke of Windsor. The letter and envelope are mounted and framed, there is a fold mark to the letter and some light foxing, 46cm x 44cm
