The bronze is in very good condition according to age. It measures 14 x 6.5 x 9 cm.
Georg Wolf (1882-1962)
Born in Alsace, Georg Wolf began his artistic studies at the School of Applied Arts in Strasbourg. He later studied at the Art Academy in Düsseldorf under the animal painter Julius Paul Junghanns. In the 1930s, Wolf discovered the German heaths form the Lüneburg Heath and chose them as his favorite subjects for his landscape and animal paintings. In 1944, after his wife's death, he moved from Düsseldorf to the city of Uelzen located at the Lüneburg Heath, where he spent the rest of his life. (cbo)
