Silver. China, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912)
A plate of pure silver, finely chased decoration on the front and drawn-in edges. The outstanding low relief shows a scaled dragon long with a very well-rendered head, faced by a long-tailed phoenix feng, also depicted precisely. Both animals are surrounded by clouds, the characters long feng chengxiang, „dragon and phoenix bringing prosperity“. On the back is a zuyin hallmark, „pure silver“. The piece was presumably used as a weight or worn as a good luck charm (suspension hole). SIZE 5,6 x 10 CM, STRENGTH 3 MM
