Description
Frederic Schiller Cozzens Am. 1846–1928 American Yachts 10 chromolithographs 14 x 20 in. 35.6 x 50.8 cm Property of Tamsin Chance Blue, Boulder, Colorado Provenance: Britton Chance Jr. since 1975
By descent to the current owner Provenance: Britton Chance Jr. (1940?–?2012), a yacht designer for three America’s Cup winners, “was one of the biggest innovators of the 1970s and ’80s,” according to Jonathan Wright, quoted in Chance's New York Times obituary written by Bruce Weber. Wright was “a friend,” according to the Times, “who was a crew member on many of Mr. Chance’s boats, including Stars and Stripes.
