Description
1924, Republic period. Porcelain plaque in the form of an open folding fan with piercing between the ribs, painted with overglaze enamels to depict birds among blossoming trees and a rock. Inscription to the left states this was painted by Liu Yucen (1904-1969), one of the eight famous porcelain painters at that time, in Jiazi Year (1924), Zhushan, Jingdezhen. Approx. 9 by 17 in., 23 by 43 cm.
