Description
A late Victorain 15ct gold diamond pendant. The raised oval panel and central old-cut diamond, within a 15ct gold stylised flower and rope-twist scalloped surround. Estimated diamond weight 0.15ct. Outer border with hallmarks for Chester partially rubbed. Length 4.2cms. Total weight 5.2gms.
Condition
Overall condition fair to poor. There are scratches, dents and areas of discolouration to the brooch. The piece was originally a brooch, the possibly metal pendant fitting added at a later date. There have been panels added to the back surround, to cover up where the brooch fittings originally were, significant dents and damage to the back surround. The central panel of the brooch appears to be a similar age however not original to the piece and added in. The surround has hallmarks for 15ct gold, the central panel is unhallmarked. The diamond is bright, Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
