With Peretti's signature streamlined style, the earrings are designed as a bird's eye view of a square shaped table and crown of a faceted gem. The attractive gold tone displayed here exemplifies the proprietary alloy of Tiffany & Co. pieces. In good condition with the clip backs in working order and minor signs of wear. Elsa Peretti (Italian, 1940- )
Elsa Peretti was born in Florence, Italy to an affluent Roman family. Educated in interior design, she later moved to New York where she became fully entrenched in the thriving fashion and arts scene. She modelled for several designers and even posed for Helmut Newton. She started designing jewelry for people such as Halston, Oscar De la Renta and Giorgio di Sant'Angelo and designed the bottle for Halston’s iconic perfume in 1973. During the 1970’s, she also began to design for Tiffany & Co. where she developed her signature streamlined style inspired by organic and sensual forms. Peretti is known for her “Bean,” “Diamonds by the Yard,” and bone cuff series, among many others, which have been worn by numerous celebrities as iconic, timeless pieces.
