At first glance, this stunning eighteen karat yellow gold bracelet is immediately evocative of the paradigmatic Van Cleef & Arpels 'Ludo Hexagone' bracelet which was in production between 1935 and 1950. This highly collectible piece also demonstrates the iconic ribbon of hexagons which construct a compelling and streamlined honeycomb effect. Additionally, the bracelet is completed with an eye-catching finish with ruffled, fluted elements flanking either side of a slightly domed tension set fold over clasp set with nineteen single cut diamonds, totaling an estimated weight of 0.76 carats, into a beaded surface. Like the historic Ludo bracelets, the band is also articulated with forty five additional single cut diamonds, totaling an estimated weight of 0.45 carats, in eight sets of five stars at even intervals. This exquisite craftsmanship and inspiration intimates the likely hand of an extraordinarily skilled French jeweler who fled to Argentina at the time of WWII. In good condition with the clasp in excellent working order.
