The poster’s call for peasants to comply with the prodnalog quotas, a traditional theme of the Soviet propaganda in early 1920s, is reinforced in this casae by a humanitarian appeal to save the starving people of Central Russia. It is estimated the Volga Famine of 1921 killed over 6,000,000 people.
