(William, son of William Hurtt, merchant of Bishopsgate and official of the East India Company, fl. 1636 ) Autograph Letter signed to his father, William Hurtt, 1p. with conjugate blank and address panel, good wax seal initials "WH", folio, Livorno, 24th May 1636, with details of shipping movements and lead prices, "Ye Convoie in M[a]rch has arriv[ed] wee heere fro[m] Merselle & Genoa & is gonne for Constant[inople] & Smirna so I hope shee may be heere 4 m[onth]s hence at farthest. We have newes of Cap[tain] Milw[ar]d & his sons fayle for 50000 l[ivres] but by virtue of a salva condotta (safe conduct) fro[m] ye King hath four yeares free prattack ", folds, browned ; and 3 other letters, European trading, including: from Castres to to Lautrec (SW France, east of Toulouse), 1590, about the purchase of hats with green taffeta; from Lyons in France to Antwerp in the Spanish Netherlands, 1633, about silk goods, a vessel awaited at Marseille, a vessel awaited at Marseille etc.; and from Middleburg in the Dutch Republic to Lillein the Spanish Netherlands about fustians, 1656, folds, browned (4 pieces).
