Scarce Spanish edition of this important Roman text on military strategy. The title vignette shows the plan and fortifications of the ancient Celtiberian hill town of Numantia, site of resistance to the Romans and ultimately a long siege in 134 BC which ended when most of the remaining inhabitants committed suicide by burning the city rather than be taken into slavery.
