Description
A late Victorian 18ct gold opal and diamond ring. The three oval opal cabochons, between old-cut diamond spacers, to the openwork gallery and tapered band. Estimated total diamond weight 0.30ct. Hallmarks for Birmingham, 1898, partially indistinct. Weight 5gms.
Condition
Overall condition good. Surface scratches in keeping with general wear and age. Opals well matched. Opals white, good to fair play-of-colour, showing predominately green hues. Diamonds well matched. Diamonds bright and lively. Light and dark coloured inclusions can be seen with magnification. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate and full colour and clarity assessment.
