A mid 20th century ruby and diamond floral brooch. The circular-shape ruby cluster flowers, with rose-cut diamond petal detail, to the intertwined stem. Length 6.9cms. Weight 22.7gms.

Overall condition fair to poor. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear. The intertwined ribbon section is loose and would need to be secured, one of the posts securing the ribbon panel has broken off. Visible solder from possible earlier repair, to each soldered joining bar. Cut and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents total carat weight estimation. Diamonds fairly well matched. Diamonds fairly bright. Some diamonds are chipped, visible with magnification. Some settings may need to be secured. Rubies medium pinkish red, fairly well saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions visible with the unaided eye. Stones in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges. The back pin and catch is secure. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers for coloured gemstones.
