Culture: Pre-Columbian Classification: Classic Mayan Date: 600 AD - 850 AD Size: 4 1/2 inches tall and 6 1/2 inches diameter Description: A masterfully painted fineline polychrome painted pottery bowl standing a low tripod legs. Beautifully decorated with five seated chiefs, each wearing a different style headdress, deer God can be clearly seen, each wearing loincloths. Five vertical glyph columns between the chiefs. A beautiful and important example.
Provenance: Carolyn and Walter Foxworth collection, acquired 1960s. Numerous collection tags on bottom.
