Cheyenne moccasins, checkerboard pattern, late 19th century. Beaded on native hide stained with yellow ocher. The soles are parfleche, one of which is re-purposed from a section of an old pigment-painted parfleche container (an envelope or other flat bag), with much of the original, colorful design still visible. Origin: Native American / American Indian / Plains. Dimensions (of each): 7.5" l. x 3"w. x 3.25" h.
