Description
Pre-Columbian, northern Peru, Moche culture, ca. 300 to 700 CE. Deadly copper mace head of disc form. Wide, thin disc of heavy copper, engraved on each side. One side features circular designs, the other more rectangular in shape. 4-1/8" in diameter.
Provenance: Ex-private Houston, TX collection acquired between 1989 and 1999 at local auction houses and art galleries.
