Description
Late 19th century. The lidded dish with straight sides and bottom on four low feet, with twisted copper wire handles held on by two porcelain lugs, the exterior decorated with sprays of chrysanthemum and peony, the domed lid turns concave near its round, flat, blue knob, decorated with two birds flying towards a Taihu style rock around which peonies, chrysanthemum and plum blossoms bloom. Approx. 4 1/4 by 10 1/4 in., 11 by 26 cm.
