Late Period, 600-300 B.C. The finely carved diorite figure of Harpocrates is wearing a tightly-fitted cap with cobra in front with curled side lock, with prominent facial details and smiling expression, with openwork arms at his sides, mounted to pedestal. Ex. Galerie Gilgamesh, Paris, ex. Paris Collection of M. Cros, acquired in Drouot before 1980. Approx. 5 by 1 1/4 in., 12.8 by 3.2 cm.
