Comments: Escaping from Germany when the Nazi's took power, Lindner eventually arrived in New York City in 1941, and worked as a magazine illustrator for Vogue, Fortune and Harper's Bazaar. His original art has been described as "mechanistic cubism." with much of his imagery related directly to the "Cabaret-Berlin" culture of the 30's, with harsh, dramatic colors and subject matter that ranges from the erotic to the ironic which was typical of that era in Germany. ,
