Description
An early 20th century 9ct gold amethyst brooch. The oval-shape amethyst collet, within a bead border and embossed surround. Hallmarks for Birmingham, partially rubbed. Length 3.3cms. Weight 7.7gms.
Condition
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. There are some more significant scratches to the back surround and areas of discolouration. Replacement catch and visible solderPossible replacement amethyst. Amethyst medium light purple, moderate saturation of colour, with fair clarity and typical inclusions visible with magnification. Stone in good condition with minor abrasions. Metal pin.
