Description
An early 20th century silver and gold diamond brooch. The old-cut diamond foliate panels, to the scrolling surmount. Estimated total diamond weight 0.50ct. Length 3.9cms. Weight 3.8gms.
Condition
Overall condition good. Surface scratches and areas of discolouration in keeping with general age and wear. There is a fine crack by the pin fastening, does not appear to effect durability. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. The diamonds are fairly bright. Light nicks and chips can be seen to some. Fine to moderate inclusions can be seen under magnification. Replacement clasp. The main body of the brooch is silver, with a 9ct gold back. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers in our catalogue and online for coloured gemstones. Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
