An embroidered Kashmir dolman cape with Worth label, circa 1885 but later altered, Worth waist stay label has been re-sewn in at the neck, formed from petrol blue velvet and intricately embroidered Kashmir shawl panels, lined in plum satin and edged with chenille fringing

The Worth label may be original - but removed and added to the neck when the piece was relined. The cape was remodelled possibly at the turn of the century to remove the 'bustle-back' construction. Embroidery and chenille fringing is generally good. Tiny area of embroidery missing near the front closure but concealed by tasselled edge (minor). Superb worksmanship.
