Squat form covered jar, decorated by Louise Abel, having blue over green matte glaze with stylized red flowers within a leaf form shape created with dark blue drip glaze and having matching lid, marks include impressed Rookwood flame logo with Roman numeral "XXII" for date 1922, shape #16, signed with artist's monogram in black slip, approximate height 4 1/2" without lid, 5 1/2" with lid, diameter 7" and a small jar with green over pink matte glaze, marks include impressed Rookwood flame logo with Roman numeral "XXXI" for 1931, shape #1321 E, process mark, no apparent artist's signature, approximate height 3 1/2".
Condition
Chip on underside edge of lid measuring approximately 1/4", 1/4" firing separation on underside, 2 1/8" glued chip repair on rim of jar; small jar is missing lid.
