EGYPTIAN GROUP OF DJED PILLARSTHIRD INTERMEDIATE-LATE PERIOD, CIRCA 1070-332 B.C.Group of three (3) blue-green glazed faience composition amulets of the Djed pillar, the backbone of Osiris symbolizing strength and stability, carved in the shape of a tall shaft with four horizontal bars, on the back side of the pillar stands a taller column, pierced for suspension. The Spell 155 of the Book of the Dead, refers to its function as follows "I am the magical protection of Osiris". It’s a magical spell, to be recited over a djed pillar, placed over the throat of the deceased on the day of burial.H: 2.1cm - 4/5" Also included is an earthenware anthropomorphic Pataikos amulet, as well as another baboon shaped one. Circa 688-343 B.C.
