Imprint Fully titled: "Speech of Hon. Hannibal Hamlin of Maine, - in the United States Senate, March 9 and 10, 1858, - in reply to Governor Hammond, and in Defense of the North and Northern Laborers", 16 pages. Imprint pamphlet, measuring 6 x 9" bound together as a single pamphlet in great condition. Wonderful oratory and period content. Complete.
Hannibal Hamlin (1809 - 1891). 15th Vice President of the United States, serving under President Abraham Lincoln during the American Civil War. He was the first Vice President from the Republican Party. Prior to his election in 1860, Hamlin served in the United States Senate, the House of Representatives, and, briefly, as the 26th Governor of Maine.
