Description
AMERICAN EARTHENWARE / REDWARE SERVING DISH AND COVER, lead-glazed, squatty truncated ovoid form with wide arched handles and galleried rim, high domed cover with small air vent hole and punch-up finial. Not burned under base. Possibly Galena, Illinois. Mid 19th century. 6 1/2" HOA, 4" H rim, 8 1/2" D rim, 8" D base.

Condition
Excellent condition, dish with several small areas of glaze exfoliation to interior and a flake to each handle, cover with 3" hairline from rim.
